Lord Hallowed
The Writers' Block #34 - Theme: God
Dear Lord Hallowed.
I ask you to think about God tonight. I’ve been thinking about him and I’m a little worried.
When God goes to bed - after he’s had his supper, put on his pajamas and cleaned his teeth - does he kneel by his bed and pray? If so, what colour are his sheets and does he have someone to cuddle at night like I have my teddy? And, also, who does he pray to?
Is it you, Lord Hallowed?
I think it must be very lonely being God.
My teacher, Mrs Sellars, says he doesn’t have a wife, so I wonder who he talks to when he is scared. I think it is you, isn’t it?
Does God find things funny and laugh? Because I do. It’s how far Tommy can stick his finger up his nose. And the word ‘bubble’. And I like bottom-burps. Does God like those? Surely, everyone likes those - apart from Mrs Sellars...
Another thing I wondered - and Mrs Sellars doesn’t know - is what does God do at Christmas? Does he have everyone round for dinner and presents? And what does God ask Father Christmas for?
I know he has a son, because, as everyone knows, Jesus’ birthday is on Christmas Day, but does God have any other family? No one ever mentions his mummy or daddy and Mrs Sellars says he doesn’t have parents, so does that mean he’s an orphan like me?
Oooh - how old is God? I wonder when his birthday is, because I’d love to draw and send him a card.
Anyway, thankyou for listening to my prayer, Lord Hallowed.
I just think that no-one takes care of God when he’s spending so much of his time taking care of us. And I’d just like you to know that I’m thinking of him.
Sweet dreams.
For ever and ever.
Our men.
